A small face-lift for Low Impact
After 8 months, we’ve made some changes to the look of Low Impact. Its still stuffed full of posts on reducing your environmental impact, and minimising your impact on climate change….but now the status bar is on the left!
Thats not the only difference, obviously. In the scheme of things, its a pretty minor redesign, but hopefully it will still be easy to use, and to read. Importantly, the new layout is a little wider, which should make things a bit more manageable to scroll through.
At the same time, we’ve upgraded the underlying software of the website, so we now have tags on posts - these are quite similar to categories, but even more “free form” - think of it as a way of showing the keywords in each post. So, finding all the articles referring to solar panels (for instance) will be a lot easier.
And speaking of finding articles, we now use a Google-powered search facility on the site. You can use this to perform all kinds of powerful searches to find the posts you’re interested in. And, if Low Impact doesn’t have that article you’re looking for on the latest low-emission hybrid car, you can search the whole web from the same search facility!
Of course, no upgrade is ever trouble-free, so you may find some rough edges on the new site design. If so, let us know through the Guestbook, and we’ll try to get it fixed up.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled environmentally-friendly, low impact program!
